The not-so-secret content hack
Why storytelling works in every niche:
A question I see all the time while building social media profiles: how specific should I be?
Should I be tactical and detailed with my content?
Should I keep things high-level?
Truth is, the more specificity you bring to your writing, the more potent it will be.
But there's a catch...
Specificity brings potency but it also narrows the percentage of readers who resonate and benefit.
The best method I've seen for addressing this, is to nestle specific business concepts, lessons, tools within a story.
This approach wins on a few fronts:
1 - builds trust via authenticity
2 - builds authority via the specific business concept/lesson/tool
3 - makes the lessons as accessible as possible for readers to directly apply
This is one of the core reasons that Founder-led branding performs so well on the timeline. When you nestle pithy or complex business lessons within a larger narrative, anchored in a personality, it provides readers the entry-point for relating and learning from the piece.
Not all readers can resonate with niche business lessons.
But ALL readers can resonate with feelings of anger, sadness, frustration, triumph, etc.
When in doubt, put lessons within a story.
Keep building.
Best,
Brett Erik
