2 cents on monetization

Dispelling common myths

A question I see all the time while building social media profiles: What’s the best path toward monetization with socials and newsletters?

My 2 cents:

Paid subscriptions (lower ticket) seem like the simplest path but in reality it's a tougher task than many realize.

Unless you dedicate a lot of time/energy into the content to make it insanely valuable, it will be a hard path.

Here’s why:

Affiliate links, similarly difficult to monetize because the percentage cuts are typically low.

Instead, for most creators we recommend a high-ticket offer embedded in a super signature + Call-to-actions to a predictable, sequenced newsletter.

Simply put:

-Post on social media
-Under the post, add landing page URL for newsletter

Once signed up for the newsletter, you’ll want:

-Welcome sequence for signups (2-3 emails, set expectations)
-Valuable info provided weekly (or more)
-Every 4-6 weeks send highly-engaged subscriber segment a very casual email (unformatted, plain text) about a promotion of high-ticket offer.

In the super signature, you can add several levels from low to high ticket:

"If you are interested, and want to take the next step, check out the promotions here:"

[link 1 - low-ticket]
[link 2 - mid-ticket]
[link 3 - high ticket]

Simple, valuable, consistent, and clear call to actions.

High-ticket offers more value for each successful transaction, and gives you the real opportunity to create an ROI positive feedback loop.

Low-ticket offers can and do work, but it can take much longer to build momentum.

Keep building,
